The Albert Dock has had a dramatic history ranging from a glittering opening by Prince Albert in 1846 through to a turning point in the present day regeneration in September 1983, with the signing of an agreement between the Merseyside Development Corporation and the specially created Albert Dock Company, which enabled the dramatic redevelopment the Dock to take place. The first phase opened in 1984 and the final underdeveloped space was brought into use in 2003.

Today, the Dock offers a fabulous range of award winning attractions including the world-famous Beatles Story, the new International Slavery Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool, along with a host of other tours and activities.The Dock also offers a great range of stylish and fashionable bars and restaurants including Babycream, Blue and The Pan American Club together with speciality souvenir and gift shops. The Dock also boasts two hotels and a unique, year-round calendar of events.

The Albert Dock really does deserve to win Juice FM's Style Awards - as Liverpool's most visited Tourist Attraction, which showcases the best of the city in a stunning World Heritage Waterfront setting. The magnificent art deco Liverpool Philharmonic Hall presents on average 250 concerts, events and films, attended by approximately 250,000 people per annum. The venue is the home of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra who's Principal Conductor, 31 year old Vasily Petrenko who has attracted unanimous critical and audience acclaim and has just been named Gramophone Young Artist of the Year .

The Phil has a great tradition of bringing the top names from rock, pop, jazz, folk, roots, classical and contemporary music to Liverpool. The hall also features comedy and dance events and shows classic films old and new on its Walturdaw Cinema Screen, which rises from the stage, the only working example of its kind in the world
